Strengthen Your Dental Health
Dr. Stanfield can perform several types of oral surgery right here in our office. Our surgical services include:
- Tooth Extractions - If we're unable to save your tooth with a root canal or crown, we'll gently remove it to stop your pain and prevent other problems.
- Wisdom Teeth Removal - The third molars often pose problems when they begin to emerge. We can safely extract them to help preserve your oral health.
- Bone Grafts - If you need dental implants but your jawbone is too thin or weak, we can build up the bone with this procedure.
You won't have the hassle and expense of traveling to see a specialist for your procedure. Plus, we use advanced technology for comfort and precision, including digital X-rays and a 3-D CBCT scanner.

Frequently Asked Questions About Oral Surgery
When would I need oral surgery?
You might need oral surgery for one of several reasons. At Glendale Gentle Dentistry, we offer tooth extractions, wisdom teeth removal, and bone grafts. You could need teeth removed if they're too damaged to repair or to make way for dentures or orthodontics. Wisdom teeth can sometimes damage other teeth when they come in, making removal necessary. Bone grafts make your jawbone strong enough to support implants.
When can I exercise after oral surgery?
For the first 24 hours after your oral surgery, you should not exercise at all. Doing too much too fast can actually create problems and prolong healing. Overexertion can loosen the blood clot from an extraction site and cause a painful condition known as dry socket. After the first 24 hours, limit your exercise to low-impact activities for several more days.
Is there much pain after oral surgery?
The type of oral surgery you have will ultimately determine how much discomfort you feel, but our goal is always to provide the most comfortable dental care we can. For most of the oral surgery procedures we perform, over-the-counter pain relievers will take care of any discomfort. If needed, your dentist can prescribe something stronger to help you through the healing process.
